Faculty Services
Library Instruction
There are several ways librarians can help you and your students.
-
Instruction and Course Guide request form
We can create a resource guide specifically for your class, assignment, or project. Invite a librarian to visit your classroom or bring your class to the library.
-
Student Research Consultation
Librarians are available for individual research help. Encourage your students to set up an appointment with us.
Equipment and Media Services
The following are available in the Media Center:
-
Equipment: Camcorders, cameras, laptops, iPads, Kindles, VGA adapters, presentation pointers, laminator, fax machine
-
Services: Graphic services, presentation consultations, video editing
Questions about Media department equipment and services can be directed to media@aquinas.edu or 616-632-2132.
Purchases and Reserves
Let us know what you'd like us to add to the Library's holdings. We accept requests for books, journals, electronic gadgets, etc.
-
Use the Library purchase request form to request that we add a particular title or subject to our collection.
You may want to consider adding items to our reserve collection for your courses. You may use our copies of books, DVDs, etc., or your own. Feel free to place extra copies you may have of text books on reserve too. Use the form below.
-
Use the Course Reserve Request form to place books, articles, DVDs, etc on course reserve for your students.
Source Review
We're happy to help your students find and evaluate information sources before or after it's been turned in for a grade. We can:
-
Comment on content & quality of sources
-
Verify that source types meet assigned criteria, i.e. scholarly articles, etc
-
Indicate citation inaccuracies
-
Analyze whether annotations reflect sources accurately
